Taken (the movie) and other Tidbits

We had such an uneventful week. The snow kept us in a Level 3 emergency state (do not leave the house unless you absolutely have to) until Thursday. Brandon's sister Gwen stayed with us on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, b/c we live next to the hospital where she works, and it was unsafe to drive home.

I painted the basement walls a new color called Gobi Desert. I really like how neutral it is and how comfortable it feels. I can't wait to get the carpet down to see it look more like a real room. Here is a picture I found online of Gobi Desert. I'll post pictures of our basement after it's done. :)

Brandon left for Pennsylavia on Thursday and he was gone until Friday. He caught an earlier flight home on Friday in time for dinner, so we went to Penn Station for dinner (sandwiches) and then saw the movie Taken, with Liam Neason. We both liked it. It was such a suspenseful movie.

After I told everyone on Facebook last week that the city of Cincinnati doesn't go to movies, this movie was actually about 3/4 full. Of course everyone there was around 17, so there still aren't any adults that go to movies here. When we saw Marley and Me, the theater was almost empty. It totally surprises me how a movie can be the biggest movie of the weekend and not be sold out here on a Friday night.

Anyway, the rest of the weekend, we took down our Christmas tree. We're still looking for a bag or box to keep it in b/c the original box was beat up. I found one online at a website called Stacks and Stacks, but I'd rather not buy online if any stores have one. Anyone know?

Brandon's friend, Jason, came over on Saturday and helped him put up some door trim. I went to the eye doctor and got my eyes dialated on Saturday afternoon, so I made Brandon and Jason drop me off and pick me up, so I wouldn't have to drive. I also got some new contacts which are working out well.

Yesterday, we watched this Wedding Cake Challenge on the Food Network until Brandon fell asleep. It was literally on tv all day and I watched it until I forced myself to go to the gym. Then we watched the Super Bowl (go steelers!) and we recorded the Office and went to sleep.

This week, we don't have much planned. Brandon is going to DC on Thursday and Friday, and I leave for Austin on Sunday! I get in at 3:40 PM. YAY!
