Another Monday

I'm on my way to Pismo Beach, CA today for a site visit tomorrow (aka Inaguaration Day!) I'm at LAX right now on a layover after a 4 hour flight from Cincy. They showed a stupid movie called The Longshots about a girl who wants to play football, which made the flight feel even longer. After the movie they actually showed a funny episode of that CBS tv show with the nerds that I can never remember what it's called. But it was entertaining.

For most of the flight, I chose to read USA Today and Oprah Magazine (new issue is out finally). I got a subscription, so hopefully next month I will get it in the mail. I love that magazine. There was a great Q&A with Dr. Phil and an interview w/ Tina Fey.

Anyway, now I'm eating CPK in the airport, waiting for my 12:45 flight to Santa Barbara. Then, I have to drive 2 hours to Pismo Beach. I chose this option over the alternative of taking 3 planes and getting in super late. At least I should be there by like 4:00 this way.

I'm coming home on Wednesday afternoon. I think my flight leaves at 6:00 AM that morning, but at least that is 9:00 AM Eastern. I hope I wake up in time!

This weekend, we went to the farm on Saturday and fixed Brandon's mom's filter for the diesel pump. They have one to fill up the diesel furnace and the diesel machines. But the pump was broken, so we had to drive to Kentucky to fix it. Some nice man at Tractor Supply was able to help Brandon while I sat in the car wondering where the closest Macys was...

Then we came home and watched Hancock, but both of us fell asleep, so I can't give that movie a review. What I saw was ok.

On Sunday, Brandon's friend Jason came over to help him work on the basement. They finished framing our guest room and they put back up my office door! Then his friends Randy and Nicole came over for a little while, and then everyone left and we had about 4 hours to relax before I woke up super early for my flight.

I have a question about taxes... If you live in Ohio and work in Kentucky, which state's taxes to do you file? And if you file both, should you get all of what you paid to Kentucky back? Brandon's brother needs help. I love that Texas doesn't have a state income tax and never realized what a pain it is. I have to file Ohio this year for the one paycheck I got in 2008 after I moved. I hope I get it all back. How long do you have to live in a state before they consider you a resident?
